Welcome!
Welcome! I’m Kate, Canadian homeschool mom of three sweet girls.
Our homeschool journey started mostly accidentally.I’d never intended to homeschool. As an aspiring teacher, I put my money into a Bachelor of Education degree and thought the concept of homeschooling was a bit weird.
But then I had a baby and then another.
Before I knew it, I was quitting my teaching job and had a three year old facing the prospect of full day JK.
And she was not ready.
So we stayed home and baked and played and read together. And we liked it. And Kindergarten looked much the same.
Fast forward a few months, through the pregnancy and birth of a third baby, to the spring before my eldest was to start grade one.
All we could think of was this: if we haven’t enrolled anyone in school yet, why start now?
I’m still not sure how it happened, how I went from a university student intent on not homeschooling to a mom of three researching curriculum and joining homeschool meet ups, but it happened!
So, whether you’re a fellow homeschooler, reluctantly pandemic schooling or just curious, you’re welcome to follow this crazy adventure of ours.
